Erie Shores K9 Academy, LLC dog training is locally owned and operated by Mary and Stephanie Mortus of Port Clinton.  Together they have over 50 years of dog training experience.

Marty retired from the state of Ohio in 2014 after working for more than 31 years for the Ohio Army National Guard at Camp Perry.  Marty had a snow plowing business and volunteered for 35 years as a member of the Erie Township Fire Department – 22 years of the time he spent as fire chief.  He has owned and trained dogs for 15 years and has worked extensively in the dog training field the last 4 years.

Stephanie most recently worked as a registered nurse but has worked in the medical field for more than 15 years.  She also volunteered for 15 years at the Erie Township Fire Department as an advanced EMT.  Always having a compassion for helping people and having a love for animals Stephanie has decided to combine those two passions into her life’s dream by being able to help both people and their dogs live a happier life together.  She has owned and trained her own dogs since she was six years old and has studied under several different dog trainers over the years gathering the best techniques from each of them and perfecting them into the best possible training methods for you and your dog.
